Canterbury Brewers and Distillers Celebrate Prestigious Wins at the World Whiskies Awards 2025


Canterbury Brewers and Distillers are thrilled to announce 3 new accolades from the World Whiskies Awards 2025. Their dedication to producingexceptional, grain-to-glass whisky using sustainable distilling processes has been recognised with two distinguished honours:

 

 

Category Winner and Gold: Single Cask Single Grain, No Age Statement from England

Foundry Gear Wheel - Corn Whiskey (Bourbon)

Silver Rye No Age Statement from England

Foundry Water Tower - Rye Whiskey

The World Whiskies Awards are globally renowned for selecting and promoting the finest whiskies across all internationally established styles. These accolades draw attention to Canterbury Brewers and Distillers' commitment to quality and innovation in the world of whisky.

 

This follows from 2024 the previously awarded The Foundry Streetlight Single Malt Whiskey (Gold and Category Winner in the Single Malt Single Cask category) and the yet to be released Foundry Capstan Imperial Stout Whiskey (Gold and Category Winner in the New Make and Young Spirit category.)  

 

Meaning that the first 4 releases from the distillery have been given global acknowledgement.

 

Awarded for 2025 are:

Foundry Gear Wheel: This Single Cask Single Grain corn whiskey (Bourbon) offers a rich and complex flavour profile, with notes of charred oak, vanilla, and a touch of sweetness. Aged in virgin American oak barrels, with a mash of over 51% English corn and the remaining the finest English brewer’s barley.

Foundry Water Tower: This bold rye whiskey delivers a spicy and robust flavour, featuring notes of cinnamon, clove, and oaky sweetness. Aged in charred oak barrels, it is perfect for those who appreciate a strong, self-assured drink.

Founded and independently operated by husband-and-wife team Jon and Jodie Mills, Canterbury Brewers and Distillers are passionate about producing unique spirits that reflect their dedication to sustainable practices, and maintaining a strong ethic of local craftsmanship from the historic Foundry in the heart of Canterbury. Their innovative approach and unwavering commitment to excellence have firmly established them in the competitive whisky industry.
