Chapel House Estate to host charity afternoon tea in memory of Kent teenager Evie Dove

The Thanet venue will donate 100% of proceeds to The Evie Dove Foundation, which has funded training for over 270 NHS paediatric healthcare workers since 2022

14th May 2026 - Kent, UK: Chapel House Estate, Minster, Thanet, today announced it will host a special afternoon tea on Saturday 27th June, 1:00-3:30pm, donating 100% of proceeds to The Evie Dove Foundation to fund specialist training for paediatric healthcare workers.

The Foundation was established in memory of Evie Dove, a bright, kind and funny teenager, from Worth in Kent, who lived life with a sparkle in her heart and spread joy wherever she went. After receiving exceptional care from teams at King's College Hospital, The Royal Marsden and the QEQM Hospital in Margate, Evie’s family and friends set up the Foundation to fund training for paediatric healthcare professionals. The Foundation supports a wide range of specialisms, from physiotherapists to palliative care psychologists, and has funded over 270 NHS paediatric professionals to date.

The Evie Dove Foundation afternoon tea menu has been created by Chapel House Estate Head Chef Stephen George and centres on the Dove Jammy Dodger, a bespoke sweet treat made specially in Evie's honour. The menu also features savoury bites including quails egg Scotch egg with piccalilli, Welsh rarebit toastie and Old Spot & apple sausage roll, alongside a variety of scones and a ruby chocolate profiterole. Amanda Jane Saxophonist will perform a live set of chilled house and atmospheric pop, kindly donating her time to support the event.

After hearing about The Evie Dove Foundation at a local quiz night, Chapel House Estate Founder, Darren Ellis, immediately wanted to support the cause. What began as offering the venue for the Foundation's annual Christmas party has grown significantly. Chapel House Estate has now also created a bespoke Evie Dove Sparkle cocktail which features across the restaurant and function menus, with 60% of profits donated to the Foundation.

"Chapel House Estate hasn't just supported us, they've fully embraced our mission and our values," said Helen Paxton, Trustee at The Evie Dove Foundation. "We exist to keep compassion at the heart of paediatric care by funding training for talented healthcare workers, and to see Chapel House Estate go above and beyond in support of that mission means the world to us. We're looking forward to celebrating our partnership with this afternoon tea. It's going to be one for the memory bank."

Chapel House Estate also raises awareness of the Foundation across its estate year-round, with leaflets and materials available for guests throughout the venue.

"What The Evie Dove Foundation stands for is extraordinary," said Darren Ellis, Founder of Chapel House Estate. "They fund training that directly improves the lives of seriously ill children. But more than that, they've built a community for paediatric healthcare workers. They turn pain into purpose and positivity, and that is something we admire.

Our afternoon tea will bring that community spirit to life with great food, live music, and good people coming together for an incredible cause. We'd love to see you there."

Tickets are £45 per person, with 100% of event profits donated to the Foundation.
