Matches Sports Bar in the heart of Canterbury city centre opening this Autumn

Welcoming by day, electric by night Matches is the bar for all occasions. Ashford’s

leading social sports bar known for its exceptional sports viewing experience, electric

atmosphere and diverse entertainment offerings, is excited to announce its

expansion to Canterbury. After two successful years in Ashford, Matches is set to

bring its unparalleled atmosphere and innovative entertainment features to

Canterbury's vibrant city centre.

Matches offers sports enthusiasts, families and those looking for a great night out a

one-of-a-kind experience. With multiple ultra HD screens broadcasting live sports

from around the world, from a variety of sports channels, including Sky, BT, and Box

Office Live, customers can enjoy their favourite games in crystal-clear quality all day

long. But Matches is much more than just a sports bar; it's a social hub. Guests can

engage in fun activities such as interactive darts, cashless pool, shuffleboard, sub

soccer, karaoke, board games, beer pong, retro gaming consoles and more,

ensuring there's something for everyone.

Matches will be host to Canterbury’s first self pour beer wall, offering an unparalleled

opportunity for beer enthusiasts and socialisers to immerse themselves in a world of

local and national craft beers. With an impressive array of brews on tap, patrons can

now take charge of their tasting adventure, pouring their perfect pint and exploring a

wide range of flavours with every visit.

"We're thrilled to bring the Matches experience to Canterbury," says Jon Shephard,

the founder of Matches and a local resident of Ashford. "Our success in Ashford has

inspired us to expand, and we're excited to introduce our unique blend of sports,

entertainment, and socialising to the vibrant Canterbury community."

The new Canterbury venue, spread across three floors, will feature two large private

function and karaoke rooms, an outdoor terrace, self-pour beer taps, and everything

else that has made Matches a favourite amongst regulars. This includes Matches

Street Kitchen, which will be serving tasty crowd-favourite dishes including juicy

burgers, sticky wings and strips, epic pizza, loaded fries and plenty of sides.

Conveniently located on Butchery Lane in the centre of Canterbury, the venue

promises to be the ultimate destination for sports lovers and social butterflies alike.

Matches was founded by Jon Shephard in 2021, and it quickly gained popularity for

its dynamic atmosphere and diverse entertainment options. Jon's vision for Matches

is to create an electric and inclusive atmosphere where friends, families, sports

teams and societies can come together, enjoy live sports, indulge in tasty street food,

play interactive games and savour a wide selection of craft beers and cocktails.
