Quince, Westgate on Sea

Quince has the perfect ambience and romantic setting for a date night. The menu is fine dining, and the use of flavour and ingredients here is exceptional. The set menu is available at lunchtime, with an a la carte menu in the evening. Starters include pickled herrings served with pickled onions, toasted soda bread, and crème fraîche, which perfectly cuts the sharp, strong flavour of the herring. The main dishes include mushrooms served with gnocchi, sweet potato, and pesto which we loved. To finish, choose apple terrine, crème fraîche, bay leaf Sugar, or cote hill blue, quince, and crackers. They also have a great wine list available, and the knowledgeable staff will help to pair your wine. Quince 39 Station Rd Westgate-on-Sea CT8 8QY. quincewestgate.co.uk/
