KENT GETS A BAKE-OVER: BUDGE OVER GREGGS - BAKERY79 LAUNCHES WITH FREE COFFEE ALL DAY

  • New site Bakery79 opens with free coffee for customers on launch day

  • Family-run brand with nearly 50 years of baking heritage expands across Kent

  • Bearsted welcomes the newest site, serving fresh pastries, bakes and grab-and-go favourites

Kent is getting a seriously tasty upgrade. Bakery79, the new food-to-go brand replacing Greggs sites across the UK, launches this Thursday, 20th November, with free coffee for everyone, all day - until Sunday.

The newest opening lands this week in the village of Bearsted. It brings a fresh line-up of hot pastries, homemade-style bakes, classic sausage rolls and proper coffee - all baked and brewed from scratch every morning.

To mark the launch, every customer gets free coffee, plus a free sausage roll with any £3+ spend, and a free cake with every bake. It’s a triple treat giving locals an early slice of the action and a delicious preview of Bakery79’s menu to come.

But Bakery79 isn’t just another quick-stop bakery. It comes with almost 50 years heritage, a story that begins in 1979 when the Tandon family’s grandparents first set up shop. The bakery was later run by their father and uncle, who helped shape the recipes, methods and warm hospitality that still define the brand today.

Now under the leadership of Manoj and Hemant Tandon of Park Garage Group and third-generation family lead, Bakery79 is entering a new era, expanding across the UK through Park Garage Group’s ambitious food-to-go transformation and bringing new life to former Greggs locations nationwide.

“Good food and a warm welcome have always been at the heart of our family,” says Manoj Tandon, Director. “My grandparents built this business on the belief that even a quick stop should feel personal. Bringing Bakery79 to Kent is incredibly special for us, and offering free coffee all day felt like the perfect way to meet the community.”

The new Bakery79 is located inside the Park Garage petrol station in Bearsted and is open from 6am to 5pm on weekdays, 7am - 5pm on Saturdays, 8-4pm on Sundays. Just turn up, grab your free coffee and tuck in - no vouchers, no faff.

With Christmas fast approaching, it’s expected to become a go-to pit stop across Kent, offering festive coffees, warming pastries and quick pick-me-ups on busy days.
