ROVE Knitwear Announces Mend it May Workshops, Encouraging Regenerative Fashion and British Craft, in the Seaside Town of Margate

ROVE, the regenerative knitwear brand crafting every piece in its Margate micro-studio using ethical British wool, has announced new dates for its much-loved repair workshops in honour of Mend It May.

The brand has also marked a major milestone. After years of working with trusted UK factories, ROVE has moved into its own dedicated micro-factory space, bringing small-batch production entirely in-house. This shift allows greater quality control, increased flexibility with sampling, and the freedom to continually refine their craft-led approach to knitwear.

Alongside the studio, ROVE has opened a private showroom for stockists, offering a calm, considered space to explore the latest collection, preview upcoming designs, and build closer, more collaborative partnerships.

Key Features and Highlights:

As part of Mend It May, ROVE is hosting a series of hands-on darning workshops at their seaside studio in Margate over the spring and summer, inviting participants to rediscover the traditional art of repair. Open to all skill levels, these sessions offer a practical, thoughtful approach to extending the life of clothing - an increasingly important act in the face of fast fashion and textile waste. With all materials provided, attendees are encouraged to bring along a beloved knit or textile item in need of mending and leave with new skills, a repaired piece, and a deeper appreciation for slow fashion. It’s a timely, tangible example of how regenerative brands like ROVE are helping shift the culture towards care, craft, and circularity.

"Our seasonal collections feature unique designs made to last well beyond a single season. Each piece is thoughtfully developed as a continuation of the last, so the range grows slowly and intentionally." - Rose

About ROVE

Founded in 2013, ROVE began at a workstation set up around the kitchen table. The label was born from a desire to find quality, long lasting knitwear manufactured in Britain using traceable British spun wool. The brand has evolved with the modern day need for sustainable, low impact clothing by offering organic, natural, recycled or biodegradable materials as well as a traceable production process.

The ROVE Team

At ROVE, every hat, scarf, and jumper is designed and made by a small, dedicated team of two. Rose, the founder or ROVE leads on design, programming, and sampling, while Harriet expertly hand-finishes each piece to the highest standard. Like many micro-businesses, we both wear many hats, moving fluidly across the studio to keep things running smoothly.

We also work closely with Alex, who supports us remotely with bookkeeping, and Rachel, who brings strategic expertise across marketing and communications.

ROVE’s roots are firmly planted in British knitwear tradition. We've proudly partnered for years with traditional factories in and around Nottingham, an area renowned for its knitwear heritage. These skilled technicians, now trusted collaborators, use specialist British machinery and generations of knowledge to produce our gloves and socks. Supporting their craft means preserving the legacy of UK textile manufacturing and keeping these vital skills alive for the next generation.
